Lib Dem lovefest [Sep. 21st, 2004|09:53 pm]
Nick
Did anyone else notice the serious LibDem lovefest in today's Independent?

Much more interestingly thought, is the BBC coverage on radio 4. They've spent months having people on (their own and outsiders) discussing the problems of the Torys apparently not being electable in their current form.

The last couple of days they've had loads of Lib Dems on, and also lots of commentators to talk about them. Main topic for them is electability, and they're talking mainly in a very positive way. Note quite as much compare and contrast with labour as the Indie have done, but I think it's hiding in the background. All very promising I think.

Just a pity a few of the non quality papers aren't doing the same.... thought, the ITV news at when last night did talk a fair bit on their electability in a good light, so it might just catch a few...

The colleague that sits nearest to me is a more-or-less full-blooded Tory. I had to listen to her bitching about the Lib Dems on the phone to a friend this morning. I swear she could hear the sound of my teeth grinding.

It's the silly season

(Quidity (http://the.earth.li/~alex/)) They are having a conference, after all... you'd hope they'd get into the papers from time to time.

What I don't get, though, is why the Tory reshuffle got done in the same week as the Labour one. No news for them. Makes me wonder: what are those blue haired types trying to hide from the rest of us?

No longer - that ended when parliament came back

They are having a conference, after all... you'd hope they'd get into the papers from time to time.

It was more the positive spin the papers where giving them that interested me.

what are those blue haired types trying to hide from the rest of us?

Yet another "whoops, maybe working for a bank as shadow chancellor is a bad thing" conflicts of interest?
