|Getting a US Credit Card for iTunes

So, it looks like Apple now have quite a few more TV shows available to buy from iTunes. Interestingly enough, in this new lot is Battlestar Galactica, which is one of the shows I currently follow. Annoyingly though, it's only available to US customers.|
So, before season 2 of BSG restarts (apparently in mid January), I think I want to get myself a US based iTunes account. (I've always said I'd rather buy the shows I download rather than go through the faff of finding them online for free, and now's my chance). The slight problem there being the US based account bit.
I'm guessing that if I try to sign up "in the US", and hand over my credit card details with a UK billing address, it's going to tell me to get lost. That wouldn't be much help for buying BSG. Presumably then, what I need is a US registered credit card.
Does anyone know if you can buy pre-paid credit cards, for the US, that when you supply any random US address as your billing address, will pass the address verification? If so, can you buy them without actually having to be in the US? Failing that, anyone got any other ideas?
(Oh, and I'll have to get crossover working, so I can run the Windows iTunes under Linux, but I'm told that's quite easy)
