|[LJ2ME] Wind and snow

It stopped snowing overnight, but the wind picked up. The wind kept the snow covering everything, and gave us a wind chill well below the -18 it actually was.
We decided to head up to le Parc du Mont Royal. Mont Royal is a large park on and around a large hill, overlooking downtown. It's about 2km square, and rises up about 200m.
After a freezing walk into the wind, we made it from the metro to the base of the Mont. The wind wasn't nearly so strong there, and we had a nice meandering walk up the mountain. At the top, we had a great but chilly view over the city.
After warming up in the cafe, we headed down to the frozen lake. Hear, we hired some cross country skiis, and set off on the beginners course.
It took me a while to get my boots into the skiis, but I found it fairly easy once I got going. The only trouble was changing between running and gliding. Oh, and the bitingly cold wind...
All went well until near the end of our hour, until I fell over twice. We headed to the nearby cafe for some warming lunch, then walked back. Cold, with a sore lower back, but having had a nice time outside.
Apparently, the temperature tomorrow will be warmer, and the wind chill less, so we should be fine to do some more sightseeing.
