Nintendo Wii [Mar. 17th, 2007|06:33 pm]
Just before we went to Canada, I borrowed Simon's Nintendo Wii, and very much enjoyed playing on it. Whilst in Canada, I tried and failed to buy one.

Since coming back, I discovered this site, which has a nifty page that checks every minute for online stores selling the wii, and gives a javascript alert when someone has some in stock. Thanks to this, I managed to buy one from Amazon, and it turned up last week :)

Today, I've just cycled round various Blockbusters in Oxford. Annoyingly, none have any Wii games to rent, and they're out of Wii games to buy. So, it looks like I'll be sticking with Gamecube games for a little bit longer, until I can try a few games to find ones I like.

One slightly annoying thing with the Wii is that you have to "pair" two wii's so they can exchange messages online, and more importantly, have their Mii's wander from one console to the other. In order to pair, you have to get the 16 digit code from one wii, tap it into the register section of the address book on the other, get the 16 digit code from that wii, then tap it into the address book of the first. Quite a bit of faff....

In order to make this easier, the wii codes for the 3 wii's I use are:
  • Mine and Hilary's - 7791 6948 0093 2849
  • Simon S's - 3755 8874 7577 3431
  • Torchbox's - 4233 0953 8641 8974

(I'll still need to tap your code into one of these to finish the pairing, so let me know what your code is when you get a wii. If you don't, there's not much point you tapping the code in!)
