Bush in 30 Seconds [Jan. 5th, 2004|05:47 pm]
Nick
[music |Weezer - 4 Buddy Holly]

A few months ago, a new Video competition was announced. It was being done by a newish group, http://www.moveon.org/, and the idea was to make a 30 second advert for or against George Bush. All the results would be licensed under a creative commons license for general release, and the best would be aired on TV.

More than 1000 people entered, and the best 15 are available for download from http://www.bushin30seconds.org/

They're all really good, so I'd suggest people watch a few, especially those of you who are US voters!

Wow.

Once you've gone to http://www.bushin30seconds.org/ and decided you'd rather not watch these embedded in a web browser, these links might be more convenient:

I don't know what happened to 2. It's not listed or downloadable.

But otherwise.. I have to agree, these are good. Very good. The question is whether these sorts of things will actually be anything more than preaching to the converted.

Re: Wow.

Well, for anyone with high speed net, follow Dom's links. For anyone I know who doesn't, shout and I'll post them to you

I'm also tempted to try to coerse the files into MPG format, then make a VCD of them

As for the videos themselves, Bush's margins were very slim (well, negative, but still slim in the places that mattered). If they can make a few tens of thousands in the right places think, then that ought to be enough
