Developing C++ Apps for Series 60 [May. 24th, 2004|06:21 pm]
Over the weekend, I managed to get the Nokia C++ SDK for Series 60 installed under Linux. It wasn't nearly as bad as I'd expected, and I've listed the links to guide on my Series 60 page.

(Basically, I got one program to rip out the innards of the Nokia installer, which is in evil cab format. Then I got another to build the GCC cross compiler for ARM, and a third to grab the interesting bits from the unpacked SDK. Not as nice as if Symbian would release a Linux SDK, but certainly much nicer than the last time I'd looked)

So, now I can compile c++ apps for my phone, and send them to it. Now all I need is a good "Hello World" starting app, and I'm away. Don't suppose anyone knows of any good GPL empty series 60 programs, do they?
