The power of LJ [Jul. 8th, 2004|05:20 pm]
As some of you may remember, a few weeks ago I posted about a random box I'd bought from Dabs, a MT1513 Pal TV Tuner.

After much digging, I came to the conclusion that it was probably a tv tuner for one particular LCD screen, that no-one makes any more.

Last week, someone in Wales by the name of Jim discovered he'd lost the TV tuner for his LCD screen. After some digging, he found he needed an MT1513. He was quoted a very large price, so looked to google. Within a very small number of pages, he came across my LJ post about mine.

A quick email later, and I was off to the post office to send it to him (I didn't need it, he did. Isn't the internet marvelous?). He's now got it, and is a happy bunny. I've recouped the costs of a spur of the moment dabs purchase, so I'm also happy :)

Isn't it amazing / scary how hight people's LJ's (esp mine...) appear in google results? Anyone else had a similar story?

Author comments on book review. Although since they're probably in the habit of googling for their own names anyway, it's probably not so impressive. ;-)
