The dilemmas of a liberal [Sep. 28th, 2004|05:53 pm]
I spotted this article nestling in the second part of yesterday's Independent. I found it interesting and thought provoking - the dilemmas and conflicts liberals (note small l) face when pondering the issues facing the world today:

He assumes a lot about "liberals" that I wouldn't necessarily agree with. But then it is a rather poorly defined term.

What *they* want you to think

He's just a flip-flopping wishy-washy liberal with far too much time on his hands - He's probabbly a cheese eating surrender monkey.

Seriously, I do think that a lot of good questions were asked, and I think the right relpy is the non-answer "...in moderation..."

Re: What *they* want you to think

Well, the *they* are the independent, who've spent the last few weeks involved in a LibDem lovefest...

It does make you think, which is always a good effect of reading a paper (as opposed to making you hate, as so many bad news sources seem to).
