Knowing what's set to autostart with Windows [Nov. 10th, 2004|11:53 am]

With Windows, it's often quite hard to tell what programs are going to get autostarted. There are loads of places they can hide the instructions to load, and it's generally a bit of a pain to track them all down to check.

Today, I discovered this rather nifty tool. It's from SysInternals, who produce a range of tools to make windows do things it really ought to manage out of the box... Anyway, run the tool, up pops a window showing what's set to run, and a couple of clicks and you can disable the ones you don't want. Very handy.
