This weekend saw my 6th Lifesaving Varsity match, and apparently only the 8th ever. Yup, I would appear to be getting old.... For the second year running, I was helping to run and judge the event, which presents a different challenge to captaining it (which I did for all 4 years I competed).|
We were in Cambridge this year, and handily CULSC had managed to get together enough bodies to let us unleash Simon's evil incidents on the teams :) The incidents seemed to make everyone think, and seemed to separate the teams, so hopefully they were good. Unfortunately, both Oxford teams ended up loosing, but you can't win them all. (Well, that does make it 4 all, so maybe next year).
Lifesaving wise, that just leaves Nationals next weekend for the year. Looks like I won't be able to make Southampton, as we're off bridesmaids dress shopping that weekend. Ah well, there ought to be an inaugural cuppers competition this summer, that ought to keep me occupied :)
Oh, and we managed to get 3 people to half blues status this year, our highest ever number. Club must be doing something right!
